New Korean cuisine in Basel: For the restaurant Kimchi, we developed a corporate identity that reflects the warm, convivial atmosphere of the establishment. Inspired by the signature dish Kimchi-Jjigae, the visual identity combines bold colors, distinctive typography, and a striking design language to create branding that is as inviting as the steaming pot shared at the table.
The logo was designed with a playful element of surprise: hidden within the stylized cabbage is the eye of a tiger, South Korea's national animal. This subtle detail gives the brand personality and a distinctive character.
The typography was also custom-designed by us. Inspired by the visual rhythm and reading direction of Korean characters, we created a unique typeface that combines modern design with subtle references to Korean culture. The result is a distinctive visual identity that feels contemporary while remaining culturally rooted.
