Concept and design of a poster series for the production “Die Bedingte Welt,” a master’sthesis at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri.
Die Bedingte Welt – without things, there is no world. The play explores the relationship between cause and effect. All events are interconnected and inevitable. They change or transform conditionally.
For inspiration for this poster series, we explored the structure of mandalas. A mandala is square or round and always oriented around a central point. In Buddhism, mandalas embody the entire universe, including heaven, earth, and the underworld. Due to the central importance of the Four Noble Truths in Buddhism, almost all mandalas are based on the number four and expand into multiples of it toward the edges. Mandalas serve as visual aids to help internalize complex relationships through the depiction of deities, landscapes, or symbols.
