As winners of the MBAL Young Talent Award at the Triennial of Contemporary Printmaking, we created a room-filling installation for the museum. It is based on our artist's book "Into Mountains."

During the Chinese Jin Dynasty (265–420 AD), people protected themselves with amulets and mirrors before setting out into the mountains. Nature was powerful and feared. Today, it is a resource that we exploit and conquer. In the installation, mountains, animals, and protective signs mingle with dangerous creatures that only become visible in the mirror. 1,600 years ago, humans feared the demons of nature. Today, we are their demon ourselves.

It was a special feeling to be able to show our work in this room-filling installation to such a broad and new audience. Thanks to director Federica Chiocchetti, curator Séverine Cattin, Anastasia Mityukova, and the installation team for their trust and the great collaboration!
