Gentle Knife Edition Silk Scarf

For this silk scarf edition, we have translated our "Gentle Knife" series onto silk in collaboration with the Japanese design label SIRI SIRI. The graphic motif creates a scarf that sits somewhere between an image and a wearable object.

The scarf is crafted in a workshop in Hyogo, Japan. The print is based on the traditional Nassen technique, an early form of textile printing in which color is transferred directly onto the fabric through a stencil. Today’s digital printing technology has its roots in methods such as these.

In this way, "Gentle Knife" becomes a piece of Japanese craftsmanship and printing culture – soft, lightweight, and surprisingly versatile.
