Black Reflection art prints – set of 3

Nature repeats its forms over and over, in very different contexts. A marble pattern can be reminiscent of snow-capped mountains, melting glaciers, waves, or vast landscapes. At the same time, it could also appear like a highly magnified structure that is only visible under a microscope.

These similarities are more than coincidence. Branching, lines, and organic patterns appear time and again, in landscapes, in water, in ice, in plants, or in tiny structures. What seems familiar to us at a certain scale can suddenly reappear at a completely different one. Marble makes this visual affinity particularly impressive. Its patterns are created over millions of years through pressure, heat, and the combination of various minerals. In the process, forms emerge within the stone that surprisingly often resemble images from entirely different parts of nature.

Perhaps this is exactly why marble has fascinated people for such a long time. It has been used for sculpture and architecture since the Bronze Age. "Black Reflection," however, does not focus on what has been made from marble, but rather on what the stone itself reveals: patterns that recall forms and structures from very different worlds, from vast landscapes to microscopic realms.
