Art print Mountain Treasures N° 1

From the outside, they may look like ordinary stones. Only a cut reveals what has been hidden inside for millions of years: layers of minerals, vibrant colors, fine lines, and sometimes entire crystal landscapes. A stone can contain an entire world within it.

Many of these structures form in cavities within the rock. Mineral-rich fluids penetrate small cracks and voids, depositing new minerals layer by layer over a long period of time. This is how the characteristic bands and patterns of agates are formed. The shapes and colors that develop depend, among other things, on the composition of the minerals and the conditions during their formation.

It is only through cutting and polishing that this hidden world becomes visible. Each cross-section tells its own geological story. Sometimes it is reminiscent of a landscape, other times of an abstract drawing.

"Mountain Treasures" showcases these hidden inner worlds: images created from minerals, water, and time, shaped by the slow forces of the earth.
