'Curiosity Cabinet' Wooden Picture Frame

The "Curiosity Cabinet" is a wooden frame that we have developed specifically for our prints. It was inspired by the display cases of old natural history museums, in which plants, minerals, and other natural specimens were stored and presented.

Our prints also show glimpses of nature. With our frame, the print itself becomes an object: it is not simply hung up, but presented like a find from a collection.

The wide borders give the content space and allow for different forms of presentation. Prints and posters up to A3 format can be shown vertically or horizontally. Flat objects such as dried plants can also be presented between the two transparent panes.

The frame can be hung on the wall or placed on a flat surface. Thanks to the two panes, it can be viewed from both sides and used on both sides simultaneously. The content can be changed in just a few simple steps without the need for clips, screws, or tools.

The frame is made from sustainably sourced Swiss ash wood. Each edge is carefully sanded and treated with a protective natural oil. The frames are handcrafted in Zurich in collaboration with a foundation for the professional and social integration of people with disabilities.
